Subject: Baking Mix (Bisquick)

BUTTERMILK BAKING MIX

8 cups flour
3/4 cup dry buttermilk powder
1/2 cup non-fat dry milk powder
1/4 cup baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups butter flavored shortening

Whisk together the flour, buttermilk powder, dry milk powder, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Using a Pastry blender, two knives, or your fingers, cut in the shortening until the mixture
resembles coarse crumbs. Seal in a tightly sealed container and store in a cool place or
refrigerator for up to 3 months. Makes about 12 cups biscuit mix. Use like Bisquick.

Another version:

BisQuickAsAWink Mix

Use this mix in any recipe calling for Bisquick or other commercial baking mixes.

8 cups flour
1 1/4 cups nonfat dry milk powder
1/4 cup baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups shortening


Combine flour, milk, baking powder, and salt in a very large bowl. Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse cornmeal. Store in tightly closed covered container in a cool place.

Yield: about 10 cups
