What do you think of young women dating much older men? I have a boss who just recently starting dating this new girl at work. She is 23 with 2 or 3 kids and he is around 50 with 2 kids. His oldest daughter is 22 though. I think it is sick. I don't see how a 23 year old could date a 50 year old. And I know his kids hate it. Do you think he shouldn't date her knowing the fact that his kids are so against it?

its not up to the kids to decide who the parent dates if there fine with it then i dont see anything wrong with it
maybe she's more sucure dateing someone who is older, she may have had a bad experience with men closer to her own age.

i see nothing wrong with young females dating much older than themselves as long as she is legal and a rersponsible adult putting her future needs first, it's okay besides its her business and the only ones that have a say so on their relationship is she and he. Just to let u know im 19 and involved with a man 37 years old(he's still a kid)and i never knew could meet the perfect imperfect man ive been asking God for.what i love about him is that he went thru the ups and downs of a person living a wild life now hes calm and hes left all the bad things in the past. Hey Valentine! Could you please help me in sending a message to our community(Cincinnati)? My husband is currently serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and I have been trying to show my support by placing yellow ribbon magnets on my vehicles. Unfortunetly, people in this community feel that because they are on the outside of my car that they are entitled to take them at will. I have had six stolen in the past 1-1/2months. I love my husband and this country but when things like this happens it really makes me question the integrity of the people who live beside us. Please help me if you can. Thank you!

Val, I've been trying to find your website for the longest time, but I couldn't (and still can't) find it. I'm wondering why you're not on the air anymore in Birmingham. I used to love listening to your show every morning on the whopping 10 minutes in takes me to get to work, but one day you guys just stopped airing. Ace and TJ started taking over the morning show. I love the whole "go single moms" thing you have going on, but i have to say, the children growing up with single moms deserve some recognition too. You're absolutely right, I have an amazing appreciation for my mom (and though im 16, I still call her mommy), which makes it all the more difficult to see her struggle. She gave up her youth to raise me alone, and works twice as hard to make sure I have all the things my friends have. To show her that her sacrifices ment something, Im already in college to start early on the dreams my mom inspired me to have, and this year I got a part time job to be able to give her a wonderful Christmas, because im the only family she has. I had to grow up very quickly in order to make our little family work, and I know that im not the only one. So to single moms and thier children, dont give up! And remember moms, what you go through, we go through too!

I was very upset when Jingle Ball tickets started to be sold publicly on a Saturday. I am an orthodox Jew and I celebrate the Sabbath, therefore I wasn't able to buy tickets when KIIS started selling them. On the following Sunday I called ticketmaster to see if I could get tickets, and they gave me a really hard time and were extremely rude over the phone. I tried calling ticketmaster two more times only to be answered with the same rude attitude and unwillingness to help me. I listen to KIIS FM everyday and I went to Jingle Ball last year and it was awesome. I've tried calling the station but the line is always busy, due to the love many people have for the radio station. I have been unsuccessful in trying to buy tickets to go to the concert and me and a few of my friends are dying to go. I just can't believe that the station sells tickets on Saturday, on the Sabbath, and then I am unable to buy them early. It's the same thing with Wango Tango, it's on a Saturday and that's why I can't go. I don't understand why KIIS has to sell tickets and make concerts on Saturdays when orthodox Jews aren't able to go. If their is anyway you can help me so that I can buy tickets or get them somehow please let me know.

Hey I listen to you guys every morning. I heard when you shocked Andrew with the dog collar. I thought it was hilarious. My neighbors used to have an invisible fence and my neighbor and my sister and I would always walk across the line. My sister was 9 and I was 5. It didn't hurt and I just think Andrews a whimp. Another thing we did was take the grill ignightor off of a gas grill and shock each other with it. We always got in trouble because we fought over all the time. You should try it on Andrew. Just wanted to say hello and Happy Holidays to you all there at the station, I think your show Val is wonderful expecially when you take the time to respond to the listeners issues in life, no other radio show does that and then dicuss's that on the air, I think by you doing that it's not only helping that listener who wrote in, but the other listeners who may have a similar problem but may be afraid to talk about it. hi i just wanted to say i love your show. I listen to it every morning when i get up and in the car on my way to school. Sometimes im late for school because i don't get out of bed in time because im busy listening to you guys joke around. i cant get ready in the morning so i have to turn off my radio, but you guys always ha v e something exciting to say and i dont ever want to miss it. you all crack me up.Especially this morning when you guys were talking about the turkey and how the thing pops up when its done. Hey I don't really know why I'm replying to you, but I thought I would try. I just wanted to say that I think it's cool that you want to date men of other nationalities. I'm 19 and a white girl. I have a Haitian boyfriend. It works out fine between us. My parents don't have any problems with me dating him. I suggest that you find out why your mom is against you dating other nationalities. Listen to what she has to say. And go from there.

hey val and the gang. i have never written to yall before but thought i'd drop you a line and see if i hear from you. i have an interesting story which i need to call and tell Oprah about but havent yet. i listen to you in the morning on my way to work. i am a DFCS investigator.. i investigate child abuse. val i know you were a cop so you know this aint a lot of fun. i too am a single mom with 3 delicious children whom i worship. anyways i met the most perfect man in the strangest way...so amy dont give up. due to my job law enforcement holds a special place in my heart. last year after sept. 11th when i began to hear of all the police and firemen that were killed i was so upset. i decided i would try and email a note to some of them just telling them that we were sending them well wishes and care packages from here in georgia. anyways several emailed me back and one nypd detective began calling me. he has been here every month since, at least once and he is moving here after the first of the year. it is awsome, he is the best man ever. we may be the only people who something wonderful happened to becasue of 9-11. anyways thats my story. you can contact me if you want. my pager is always with me 706-802-6124. ill call you back.

Hey, I really enjoy your show, you guys are great to listen to. There's nothing better than a mama's boy, a drama queen, and well...you all on the air together. It's very entertaining. Well I just have a problem that I need help on. You see, I have friends that like to go out on friday and saturday night and drink and drive and stay out late..stuff like that. But I'm not like that. I'm 14 years old and I take care of my body, like running, lifting, ect. And the town I live in is very small also..so you can get beer or whatever pretty easy. But it's still wrong. Its illegal to drink at my age, and they obviously don't care if they get caught. When your drunk you do stupid things that could get you into trouble. I feel like the baby...because everyone else is out and having 'fun' and I'm at home reading or something. What should I do?

P.s-Is there any way I can win something? I've never won anything before.

I listen to ur show every mornin while i'm doing my hair and getting ready for school from 6:30 to 6:55. I love ur show. I have a problem and thought u could give me some advice. I'm 15 years old and i'm going to turn 16 in about 2 months. I have a boyfriend and we have been goin out for more then 8 months. He comes over almost every Friday, but i'm never allowed to go to his house. This past Friday my mom told me that my boyfriend wasn't allowed over and when I asked why she said that he wasn't goin to come over every Friday night. Even though we weren't doing anything and my family ended up staying home all night. I'm not allowed to go to his house or even go to the movies with him. I don't understand why my parents are being so strict about this. They said that I was allowed to date when I'm 16, but I'm in a relationship now and I'm afraid that I will lose my boyfriend if I never get to see him. I mean what is the point of going out with someone if you're never allowed to see them. They have no reason not to trust me and they know his parents well like they know all of my other friends' parents. If you have any advice on how to get my parents to let me go over to his house and see him more often, please let me know. Thanks again and keep up the good work w/ the show!

I know that being 16 that you want to see your boyfriend but you have to build trust with your parents maybe not you but your boyfriend. If he really likes you he will stick around no matter what your parents do or say. He is some sneaky advice. Tell your mom that you are going to the movies with friends and meet him there. This also works for the mall too. But don't get caught. Hi guys! My problem is closely related to Amy's, but it's not the same. About five years ago, when I 17 years old, I fell deeply in love with Ralph Privitere, when he yelled across the cafeteria, "I love you!" to me. He expressed his true self to me over the year and I, like idiot, was too SHY to respond back to him.
Five years later, I am still deeply in love with Ralph, because him and I share so many of the same traits.
He still comes around me at college once in a great while and just recently, a week ago from today, I seen him. I think he's waiting on me to make a move, now, because he didn't say anything when we passed each other in the hall. I still love Ralph very much, yet I am too shy to go up to him and talk to him, unless I work my confidence up to a level of determination to do so. For example, if I were to see Ralph again and I've worked myself to the point of determination, I would ask him to marry me.
So, what's my main problem? My main problem is being able to find Ralph. He used to live right around the corner from me, but now he's moved and I don't know where to. I want him to know I still love him the as I did five years ago and that I would love to grow old with him forever.

Hey val, i just wanted to say how much i enjoy your show in the mornings on the way to work. i dont even like to get outta my car because im afraid im going to miss something good. anyways, i justed wanted to tell you that im a single mom myself of two beautiful girls. single parents know how hard it is to raise kids today with only one income(in a two income society). i know that i have times where ends dont meet but my girls always come first. i think that when you give props to single moms it lifts their spirits a little. you shouldnt forget the single dads either because there are some out there.unfortuately there are people that have children and couldnt care less about them. i wish you and your wife good luck on having children! and i think that you are a little harsh on Drew about living with his parents. i had to move back in with my mom after my divorce and i am 28. It is soooo hard and by listening to your show makes me prepared for the day ahead of me. Listening to other people's problems makes me feel like i am not alone. It is a great feeling! I listen to you guys every morning...starting at 5:15, that is after I am out of the shower and shaved and when I am wake enough to hear what you are saying....one of the biggest attractions for me is actually YOUR VOICES. I find them all interesting and intriguing...never having met you and seen only pictures, your voices actually add to my impression. They are very pleasant to listen to. just to clear everything up, yes, the leaves in the lion king do spell out the word sex...it's when simba flops on the ground during a night scene and the leaves fly up in the air. and in aladdin, there is a scene where the genie turns into a bee and he is buzzing...that's what you think. he actually says something like "all good people take off their clothes". i'm not just saying this, a bunch of friends and i were talking about it and gave it a try...and yes, both of these are true. i've also heard that in the little mermaid there is a naked woman somewhere in/on the castle. haven't looked for that one yet. love your show, keep up the laughs.

I think that its cool that Drew lives at home. Im 24 and still live at home too (well just me and my mom), but I plan on stayin home till I save up enough money to buy my own house and get everything I saved up my money for. Em, no offense, but Britney Spears is so not the best, for sure. Maybe this will make Drew feel better about still living at home or give him a goal to shoot for!

My cousin will be 33 this month. He still lives at home. He has never lived on his own. He doesn't have a full time job. Sometimes he works part time. He sleeps til noon and comes and goes as he pleases. It is like he is on summer break from high school. His mom still cooks all his meals, picks up after him, and gives him money. I think he is just waiting for his parents to die because he is an only child and he will get their house (paid for) and all their money. I don't know whether to consider him pathetic or ingenious????

I have only been listening to your show for a little while but I think it is actually really good. You guys are really funny and have a lot of chemistry. So here are my thoughts 1. You guys have to stop making me laugh so much! I am constantly laughing or smiling in the car (by myself!) and I am getting a lot of strange looks! 2. Drew...grow up. You seem to be a nice, intelligent guy but come on. I am 27 and live at home but I also just spent three years in law school and am trying everything in my power to get out!..before that I was on my own. No girl in her right mine takes a guy seriously if he lives with his parents, ESPECIALLY is he is small and skinny! 3. Amy...girl get some independence. You don't NEED a guy in your life...but it is good to have one. Just make sure he appreciates you and is worth YOUR time. Guys basically suck...we just have to find the right one to train!!! P.S. I just wanted to let all of you know that I love your show. I have a half hour drive to work every morning and it keeps me awake and laughing. Hey I have no clue if you guys actually read these things, and it sucks that I am all the way at the bottom I think. Im not sure, but anyways I just wanted to say that Drew I think you are just the most "wow" thing I have ever seen. And NO VALENTINE, im not blind thank you very much. I think the cell phone law is great for public places! Some people want to say that not ALL phones have the vibrate but if it doesnt it has a light that will light up. I also think they should require a hands free kit for all people not in an automatic car.
I also wish they would make a law where smoking is illegal in public places! I dont smoke for a reason and not being able to go out in public without breathing someones elses smoke sucks!

Amy,, don't worry about having a boyfriend. I am 31 years old and always have had a boyfriend. All my relationships have lasted at least a year. Take time to be by yourself. Do a lot of things with friends, travel and just have fun. Once you get a boyfriend things change. That should just be the last thing that you worry about.

As far as the boy who lives with his parents. I think that I can speak for a majority of woman who would not touch you with a ten foot poll. If you have to wait for your parents to go out for some alone time, like in high school, there is something wrong. Does your mom still cook your dinner and do your laundry? Woman will look at you and think that there is just another man that can't take care of himself. Woman don't like wimpy men...

To Val and the Gang,

I listen to your show just about every morning. I have a lousy sense of time so on one of the days i was listening i haerd you read a story from a mom that was not going to have a xmas for her and her kids do to her finacial situation. Thats when i heard you immediatly say that you will personaly make sure that her kids will have one.

I come from a single parent family, i am 31 years old now and cant tell you how much it meant for ppl to lend that extra hand for family to reach out a little more then they really needed to. My mom my brother and I went thru alot togather and continue to go thru the daily trials of life that none of us can avoid. But do to my mothers persiverance and determination and the of course the love that she never failed to show and say to me and my brother we all came out just fine. So to the single moms out ther that are doing thier best and for some reason feel that they are failing their children. DONT. As long as you show and telly our children you love them and do all you can for them they will never think you are a failure to them it will be the exact opposite, you will be thier biggest HERO.

So in short I send all the love a son of a single mom can send to all the other single moms out there and to most of all mine. She has given me strentgh and love that i could only dream to get.

I have finally decided the only thing I can do now is surround my self with positive energy, and people who only raise me higher. Keep that in mind. Dear Val,
Thank you for all the love you show for single mom's! It makes me feel like someone cares about what I go through on a daily basis. If you haven't figured it out, I am a single mother of 4 wonderful kids. My ex-husband does not pay his child support and after only a year, he owes upward of 9,000.00 dollars. I, as well as others, have come to the conclusion that their will be no Christmas this year, much like last. I have a full time job and am scheduled to start college next spring, but all of my money goes to necessities only. The courts are trying to get a hold of my ex, but until they do, my children are having to do without things they used to do and places they used to go. People take for granted being able to take their kids to McDonalds, to the movies, and even to go play putt-putt golf, until it is no longer an option. Every day I pick my children up from daycare and have to drive by McDonalds, and every day I have to break their little hearts. I feel like bursting into tears every time I have to say, "Mommy doesn't have enough money to go there". So I would like to commend every single parent, be them mom or dad, and let them know that other single parents (at least this one) are praying for them!

Hi! This is Patty and I live in Boaz, Al. Small world huh? I hope that things get better for you, because I know how you feel when you have to tell them that you don't have the money, keep working to improve yourself and your kids will see that they can do the same. My oldest son is now talking about going to college and being a scientist because I am in college. Even if you can't give your children anything except a good example, they will appreciate it more in the long run than any toy you could give them. Maybe we can keep in touch to encourage each other, feel free to write or email.

Hi Val and crew, I just wanted to praise ALL of you for making my morning commute enjoyable and tolerable (45 miles). Keep up the good work. Real quick this is my hump island: Rob Thomas, Eminem, Toby McGuire, Hugh Grant and of course Brad Pitt. I think they all represent at least one characteristic of the perfect man. Have a good one.
