Did not agree with talent - Piece was way, way too easy.

All I can say is that there was no musicianship in Miss Capital City's performance. There was one dynamic through the entire piece LOUD and BLASTING. And can I ask where the melody was? I know the hymn Amazing Grace and I didnt hear it tonight. TOO MUCH ORNAMENTATION. Miss Darlington is a great pianist. Her rehearsal was much better but still she was good. I think she was much better than Miss Capital City. Miss Greater Pee Dee was outstanding tonight. There was more musicianship in her entire performance than I have seen in the whole competition. The dymanics were great and well executed. Her stage presences and the way she connected with her audience was outstanding. She is the one who gave me chills. The only chill I got from Miss Capital City was out of gratefulness that she stopped and i could unplug my ears from the torture. Several of the dancers were good too and I think they showed more talent there than the winner.
I think a big part of the problem is the judges being vocalists. Coming from a person who has judged vocalists and holds a degree in vocal performance it is harder for a vocalist to win against someone out of the vocal genre. People generally judge harder in their field than out of their field. I feel sorry for all the vocalist because honestly I dont think they get a fair chance at talent. Miss Greater Pee Dee you were so deserving yet robbed. Thank you for giving me chills and making my night worth being at the pageant.

[> [> [> Subject: Let it Go! Miss Capital City actually ENTERTAINED the crowd. Last I checked, that is part of the talent score. This is her 3rd talent preliminary in 4 years, 15 judges from across the country can't be wrong. Outstanding is not a word I would use to describe Pee Dee. As for getting robbed, it was the audience of their 90 seconds of their lives they'll never get back having had to listen to Pee Dee screech. Her parents need to be proud of her volunteer scholarship and move on.

I am sure her Mom and Dad are proud of her volunteer scholarship. The only screeching i heard was from that awful saxophone. I am a vocalist and Miss Pee Dee was far from screeching. Also you would thank after four talent prelims she would be able to play a different piece or at least learn the melody of Amazing Grace. If you dont hold a music degree and are not going to be unbiased just dont say anything at all.
