Subject: I have heard the names of several LED's that are not coming back, and to be honest, was a bit surprised but not shocked. If you look at last years results, there were locals that did not return who had 2 titleholders in the top 5, 2 in the top 10, overall talent winer, photogenic winner, academic scholar, media coverage winner, and much more. If that many talented LED's left last year and more leaving this year you have to begin to look at the commen denominator.

Yes, I understand that you need to raise funds in order to be able to put money into the scholarship account for the state pageant, however, when you have no one with any experience to properly market, advertise and promote the pageant, it is hard to get sponsors to donate to the organization.

The Miss SC Website is not even complete. You click to see bios and you get a message that "bio is coming soon." That has been like that for months!

You are going to be hard pressed to find major corporate donors who are willing to give their money to an organization that can not even add text to their website. And don't tell me they don't have time, because when they sent their RFP to Miss America, their bios had to be included in that proposal, so it screams laziness.

Besides the fact that LED's left last year, they also lost a few board members. That was not due to anything that the organization had done, but jobs that required moves out of the state and other factors beyond the control of Miss SC, however, these vital members were not replaced and you can see how overwhelmed those who are left seem to be.

I admire the 20 year commitment that the current state director has for the pageant, however, commitment does not equal the ability to undertake the task of effectively producing and managing the operations of not one but TWO state pageants, which, we need to be honest, if is to be successful is NOT a part time job or hobby or a weekend volunteer position.
