In reply to: S. K. Dixon 's message, "Re: Do Flyers go into "heat"?" on 14:36:37 11/11/06 Sat

The problem is the way my house is constructed,I guess....It's a log cabin with logs that are of varying widths..so the walls are not perfectly even...so there are gaps between the logwalls and the back of the baseboard radiators....there are also small gaps between the rooms, just enough space for a determined flyer to be able to run from room to room, and if the doors are opened, out into the hallway and the rest of the house..........I dont know what else to do-I try to keep the doors closed, but my cats sleep on my bed during the day,and they need access to their litter boxes in the basement..Also,my husband wont sleep with the door closed, and,of course, nighttime is their active time....I dont know why my dog does this..I have 2 Golden Retr. and the other one couldnt care less........
I have to find where Mr. Big spends his days.........I've been looking, but havent found a nest yet..........I do put food out for him in one of the closed off bedrooms.....
What else can I do to ensure his-and any other FS that may drop in-safety?My dog-female,by the way-would cry all night if she werent able to stay in our room...despite her taste for FS,she is really a big baby when it comes to being left alone.........she once tore the door off a bathroom to get to me during a thunderstorm.....
