You have a couple of different neutering stories mixed up.

If you do a 'neuter' search on the NFSA board, you will find several people's experiences with flyer neutering (of note, my Sigi had the ludicrously expensive but successful Manhattan neutering).

As I stated on the NFSA boards, neutering is a VERY risky procedure for these tiny creatures, and such a decision should not be taken lightly.
