Greetings, Linda and Amanda, and Connie, good luck with your plants (I have a brown-thumb, and can't keep even plastic plants in good condition!)

I have offered shiitakes, and they're well received - but will be honest, and admit that for the cost and immediate availability, I tend to stick to the white button and the portabellos.

Last night, I again went out on the loft balcony, and collected 3 moths (looper moths, this time) for the boys. Now, they're already getting excited, when they hear the balcony door open, in their eagerness for the treat.

Autumn is here, I think - but still, it looks like we might just get an extended 'Indian' summer - hope so, anyway!

>>Amanda really likes them as a change.
>>She gets a fresh mushroom, usually a baby portabello
>>or a white button, almost every night for the vit. D.
>>>Speaking of Costco, I buy their 'giant' bag of dried

>>>mushrooms, and which to avoid - but in the 'domestic'
>>>setting, it's possible a squirrel might eat something
>>>it would otherwise avoid. So, I stick to white
>>>'button' mushrooms, or portabello mushrooms, that I
>>>can get at the salad bar of the stupidmarket - or the
>>>dried mushrooms (which are also portabellos).
