Yucky, the cicadas make a crunchy sound whilst being consumed but the delight my flyers had was worth it! Little Jole' actually came to me once after a "feeding" and nosed around on my chin in obvious gratitude. Later when I would capture one and bring it inside for her, she would hear the whir of the wings, instantly awaken, and be on it in a flash. The same with the dragon fly, wings whir and the flyer pounced instantly. These were my flyers favorites and they did pay me for the grossness (is that a real word or just flyer talk?) with obvious appreciation. The things we do for love.....
