Subject: Help!!!

I have a domestic male flyer who will be four years old in December. I have never noticed this before, but his hair is thinning!! along his back and tail it has just recently become noticeable. It has never been a problem before which led others to remark that it could be "old age", which i do not want to believe because i have read thier lifespan is much longer. He has had less of an appetite as of lately as well. He gets a vitamin supplement in his water and powder on his food. Could there be a deficiency of some sort that im missing? any suggestions or pick me ups for my lil guy? im quite worried!
