• Re: From where you are moving too or currently live, you need to do the drive and visit both classes. Knowing both teachers, I am sure they would allow you to visit a class that is the level of your dancer. See if you are really up for one drive or another on a regular basis and if your dancer likes the environment.   • No matter what politics there may be in the teacher (or parent) arena, dancers always find a way to go around it and make a friend. My dd is very close with a McGinley dancer and a BFOC dancer and a Gilchrist dancer and that's just because they've shared side stage together for years. Yes, competition thrives in this sport but it is so wonderful to see the kids chatting away like old pals when they feis. We also had atleast one of our teachers or designated seniors watching every soloist and team. One of our teachers gives every dancer something to attach to their number so they know they have touched base with every dancer before they dance (this year's just didn't stick so it didn't work but has for 5 years). I feel that they give their most to all but know that the kids that will go on to worlds need to be watched so improvements and feedback can be made to go on to that level.       • Re: I think people tend to forget that teacher's are human and do the best they can. If a teacher missed speaking to a mom and dad at the O, I am sure it wasn't on purpose. Especially if its a big school. The dancers are the priority, not the parents. Many of the teachers are also parents themselves and I know my TC makes it very clear that until her dd is done, she is a mom first. There are other teachers we can call on if there are problems and others who make sure the kids are sidestage, ready to go.
