Having been just out of qualifying the past two years, its very stressful for the dancers who really work and then get down with injury or illness.   • people are told they likely have H1N1 when they are exhibiting symptoms that are consistent with the virus. H1N1 is the predominent flu this year. It would be impossible to swab everybody; there just isn't the manpower to do it. It really ticks me off when people are so accusatory to the doctors that are working their butts off to help. As for canceling the O, I say no. H1N1 is already all over the schools, workplaces. Might as well have the O if there are enough dancers to dance. Just use precaution! However, if you are concerned about it and she is "struggling" as you say to get that 2nd win, then chances are, she is not ready for OC unless she does not mind if she does not place when she gets there. When you have parents, kids& a competitive activity, you see both the good & the bad side of people. • The POC usually dance at the 'preteen' event and then at the dinner dance.....so whether you buy the $65 dd ticket or the $10?? movie night ticket dancers/parents can enjoy the POC.
