Subject: For those who've had H1N1 affect their dancer, . . .

Did you find that many others in the dance school became infected? Any parents ill? Whereabouts are you, generally--Toronto, north GTA, etc?

New York State is very hard hit. I had planned on going to Finger Lakes this weekend, but am passing. Too afraid of the flu this close to the O's. (NT) -- germ freak, Mon, November 02, 12:17:24pm
My daughter has been sick for a few days but doctor at clinic says not swine. (NT) -- She has sore throat and cough now, chills and nausea gone. Staying away from everyone for now. Supposed to go to finger lakes. Won't if still sick, Mon, November 02, 12:28:23pm

- You have a GREAT TC!!! Wish ours was like that...she wants blood from a stone, sick or not...needless to say we will be looking for a new school after the "O." Health should come before TC's pride at an O placement. Would think she's rather withdrawl a dancer, instead of having him/her dance and pass out or throw up. - NOTE TO TC'S/PARENTS WHO ENCOURAGED THEIR SICK DANCER(S) TO PARTICIPATE: How dare you endanger the health/lives of every other healthy dancer in class . You had better hope that no kid from your classes dies of this illness. You were (are) messing with fire on this one. All for that coveted spot on the podium? Is it really worth it? - A hard arobic work out will lower your immune system for a few hours afterwards. With the H1N1 virus that could prove very dangerous to the dancer who chooses to attend class or the O and not rest at home. This is not something to mess with as complications can develop quickly. Re: We had a huge workshop this weekend and many of our dancers (world medalists included) had to miss out because they were sick. TC sent out message before stating if you were not well, it wasn't worth the risk to attend. Through the weekend, several dancers who because sick left (long drive home) but didn't have any symptoms the day before. You just don't know you are sick til it hits you between the eyes. PLEASE STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK! And experts have said in the news etc NOT TO EXCERCISE while sick with this flu. Often people think it's good to 'sweat it out' but not in this case. diagnosed with H1N1 (burlington) and it just hit me 7 days ago with no warning. i washed my hands frequently, ate healthy etc and it was so quick! and boy is it bad! (NT) -- please stay home if sick, Thu, November 05, 11:46:09pm
