The North Coast Feis 2018 will be taking place on Saturday, February 3 at the IX Center. Mark your feis calendar now. Our committee is working hard to make this our best feis ever! We have decided to cap at 700 but will still accept same day entries with a same day fee. We will be offering grade exams 1-10 on Friday, February 2 as always. The examiner will be Sue Fay Healy. We will also be going back to single stages for Open Champ and Preliminary Champ, but will still offer preliminary sets. Registration will open on or around November 28 (after Oireachtas) on Feisworx. Hope to see you there!

  • Love the Roseland feis. Live the big numbers, awards are wonderful. BUT, something has to be done about the one stage. I saw way too many young dancers slip and at least 10 full out fall. A stage that slippery is a huge safety concern. Know a lot of dancers were scared to go up. It would be awful if someone sustained a serious injury as a result of this. Please, this needs to be addressed for next year. -- S, Sun, October 29, 12:23:43pm

  • Registration for Feile Nollaig opening today at iFeis.net. Welcome to iFeis, a new way to feis. We want to share our excitement about being able to support our Irish Dance friends in Canada and Mexico. iFeis now supports credit card payments in local currency in the US, Canada and Mexico and additional countries can easily be added. More inside. -- Win@iFeis.net, Thu, October 26, 10:30:59am
After years of participating in all of the feis volunteer roles, we decided to take feis registration and tabulations solutions to the next level by leveraging hand held devices to create the first integrated, mobile optimized feis management system. The end goal is to eliminate most of the paper used at a feis and have all your feis information accessible through your mobile device.

Features include a live stage schedule to see the status of competitions in real time, as well as an online search engine for competitors and competitions to replace a hard copy program book. More features are in progress as we take full advantage of the integration of the iFeis management system

For the user, iFeis is very different from other solutions as we designed it using contemporary web design principles and concepts employing a best practices approach, which includes a constant quality assurance. Change can be hard, especially when you have used other solutions for many years.

We have a very responsive support system which can be accessed through the “Contact iFeis” button found anywhere on the iFeis website.

Please read over the iFeis Account Setup and User Instructions on the iFeis Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/iFeis/) and we look forward to hearing from you and meeting you at the Fiesta Feis in Mexico and Feile Nollaig in Canada.

The installation starts on Thursday Nov 9th at noon, and will go on into the evening. Tear down is on Sunday afternoon once the dancing is complete. Nothing says "I love you and I'm proud of you" like volunteer stage installation. This work is usually accepted for high school volunteer hours. • Oireachtas room available -- Linda, Tue, September 19, 03:46:45am
Hi, I'm looking for someone to take over my reservation at the Oireachtas hotel. I booked 3 nights, that can easily be changed! Due to financial reasons we are no longer able to make the trip from Halifax and if I can get the room filled via this board I'll be able to recoup the $160 plus tax rather than lose it. I booked a traditional room with two queen beds, Thursday-Sunday. Many thanks if you could direct any fellow dancers still looking for a reservation

Is currently in the process of producing her second CD. With a contribution of just 10 dollars, you will be able to pre-order the full album, half of which is designed for practices and has some great guest artists (including Dave Eggar who is the cello player in the Coldplay song Viva La Vida). Each dance track is almost 10 minutes long ,perfect for performances, practice sessions or just plain listening. Katie has been both a competitive dancer in the MidAmerica region as well as a TCRG. This is a great opportunity to support our local talent. Katie is currently on tour with the well loved Irish band, Gaelic Storm. Check out the link below for more info

None of the TCs at her school give any positive feedback on her dancing. It is all just vague negative comments. Is this a sign she should quit? Maybe she doesn't have the right style they like to see.

So after no improvements and no idea how to actually get better results, can anyone offer any suggestions of what to do in this situation? She hardly gets any cmts at a feis.

We have set an exit date since it is overwhelmingly frustrating.

  • Will the ECRO also be a fixed panel since worlds and Nans are fixed panels? Why would the qualifier also not follow the same judging format? -- Judging at the O, Wed, July 19, 09:18:02pm
Also - why are there so many UK judges on the panel? Doesn't that put schools with UK associations at an advantage?

  • Oireachtas hotel is open for bookings - hopefully your teacher shared this with you the other night... -- Smith, Thu, July 13, 10:29:38am
The Oireachtas hotel will open for bookings starting Thursday July 13 at 10am.

The dates for the event are Friday November 10, Saturday November 11, and Sunday November 12, 2017, and the room block has been extended at the preferred rate to accept bookings for a couple of days before and after the event dates for those who want to extend their stay.

The location is the same as in 2016, as is the rate of $160 plus taxes.

    Sheraton Toronto Centre
    123 Queen Street West
    Toronto, ON
    416-361-1000

Follow this booking link to make reservations: https://www.starwoodmeeting.com/Book/2IK08B

One night will be taken as a non-refundable deposit, and the rate will be honored (subject to inventory) until October 17, after which regular rates will apply and there will not be anything the committee can do about this.

The schedule will remain the same as in previous years, although the order on the days may change around. Friday will be solo championships for boys and girls u8-u15; Saturday will be solo championships for boys and girls u16 and older plus adult team events; and Sunday will be all remaining team events plus premiere competitions.

    Thank you!

  • Considering coming from out of region for a long weekend. Looking for recommendations of things to do in and around Niagara Falls? -- Never been-sorry for newbie questions, Mon, June 26, 11:34:39am
Can you just "view" the falls? Is there a particular tour or group that is good to go with for something more guided?

What else is within 30min or so?

DD is 14 if that helps.

    Thanks in advance!
