    OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!!!!!

GC BUS TRIP TO NORTH COAST FEIS - February 3/4

GC sold out one bus for North Coast Feis and booked a second one. We have some seats on it and want to open it to other schools so we can get a good ECR contingent heading there. We are so limited in the number of Feises for our dancers through the winter, and this one is a really good, well run event.

We have it set up on a website called TILT. People book seats and ONLY once the bus is full, are they charged.

Here is all the info on it. GTA dance families that are thinking about the feis but dont want to risk the weather (weve had bad weather 5 out of 7 trips and not a problem when you are on the bus), they are more than welcome to come on the bus with us.

Reservations for the Friday Night should be made at the Sheraton Cleveland Airport under the North Coast Feis group.

Entries for the Feis are open and Grade Exams are closed.

  • DO NOT USE CELTIC COUTURE -- Angela, Tue, November 08, 06:30:11pm
This is the worst dress company there is! They don't design well, they ship dresses out that aren't the approved design. Their workmanship is shotty at best. I was having a dress made for my daughter this summer and the dress took forever and the design didn't even match the approved CAD design. We tried designing another and decided to part ways. They tried to send me my refund through paypal which would cost me more money! They not only kept my deposit, should have returned it on good faith, they now have told my credit card company that they sent me a dress. Now I have to re-open another dispute and go out of my way to prove I never received a dress. My friend bought a dress for her daughter and it showed up not being the approved CAD. She sent it back and it took weeks to get the dress back. They have so many excuses to why dresses take so long, why dresses don't look exactly like the CAD. I just now received my daughter's dress from Gavin, and just like her sister's dress, LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE CAD. Shame on you Tracy & Orna! Save your daughter the heartache and yourself frustration and go with Gavin!

Not everyone may agree with me, but I wanted to point out that I'm proud we come from a region with such healthy competition. So many new champions this year different from last year, if you compare this years parade of champs to last year they are drastically different! I think its great that we come from a region where different people have the chance to make it to the top. We might be a small region, but we certainly are a strong one! Well done to everyone.

  • Cookie Basket Raffle for a Former ECR Dancer Who is Battling Cancer -- Caitlyn, Fri, November 18, 01:49:55pm
    Hi All,

I know how the Irish Dancing community pulls together in great times and in hard times. A young lady who used to dance for the Graham School was recently diagnosed with brain cancer and has been undergoing radiation. She has been through a lot since the diagnosis. She and her newly wed husband have put their lives on hold to deal with her battle with cancer. With all that has been going on their financial earnings have been put on the back burner. I am doing a raffle for a basket of Christmas themed sugar cookies($100+ value) to help raise money to assist them during this difficult time.

Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. The draw will take place December 19th, 2016, just in time for the Christmas season. All the money raised will go to Lauren and her husband Eddy. Whoever is interested in participating please let me know!
Online donations for tickets are available as well.

For a little insight as to what Lauren has been going through this is the blog she has kept along the way:

  • Lost at awards on Saturday night -- Cathy, Thu, November 17, 05:00:40pm
Clear plastic ziploc bag (approx 8" x10") containing black velvet sash, headband and bloomers. It was left on a chair in the front row of the ballroom. I have checked with hotel security and no luck. I'm hoping someone saw and picked it up. I'm praying that the convention staff did not throw it out!

I don't understand why a certain school has to enter every single dancer in a team. It was a bit ridiculous at awards that they were continually being called. Why not let some of the other schools have an opportunity to let their students get a medal from this event. Why couldn't there be a rule that says each school my only enter one team in the 8 hand competition. It might be nice to see another school come out on top for a change.

I understand the lady at the dinner dance's job as if people did not pay they could not be let in, there was an earlier show for people below high school age and that was awesome!! But my sister did not want her wrist band anymore, the dinner was over and she wasn't feeling well, gave it to me so I could watch the parade of champs yet since it wasn't my band I wasn't allowed to go in?
