Author: ...that's just the way the numbers work out.
Subject: But think about this, if a school is hosting a feis, then they will have a larger percentage of their dancers competing at that feis, than at any other. With the law of percentages, the more participants from one school, the greater likelihood of some of those dancers winning. At a feis an hour from home, we might have 20 from our studio that participate. At our home feis, closer to 100. The judges don't know our dancers from Adam, yet a higher than usual # of our dancers will win. Outsiders can claim it's political, but in fact...
In reply to: Accept it and move on 's message, "I cannot comment on the results as i was not there BUT no matter what the region, it is very typical for the host school to get more winners. Some feis are worst than others with one in particular in the ECR which always have dancers win at their feis and not at others. It might be corruption or just that the judges invited are friends with the TCor just like the steps of that particular school. Who knows. If you think for one minute the Judges do not know which school the dancers are from, you are either new to this sport or very naive" on Sun, February 21, 03:48:05pm
