About turmoil & incidents in one’s private life, it is where spirits advice help to deal with some situations.
To answer to your comment about the ego, in my case, I have very little concern about my own reputation, that's why I am able to be so detached. Jealous people not liking me is not my concern. It is their own issue. We cannot please every body anyway!
I know who I am. My common sense and my balance is strongly grounded because, like you Thalia, I am born & I have been raised by a very normal family in a paradise of the South hemisphere, very far and very protected from the ugly mentalities of the European predators who know so well to destroy the humanity and the balance of their children. The spirits organised my destiny this way in order to be well structured and to have my personality not tinted with ugliness. My ability of reasons and analyse is also strongly grounded because of a solid education (10 years of university in France) and many years of running my own business. My mentality is in the Light, and I shall always stay in the Light! It is not because I am used to keep low profile when observing people and to serve with humility that it means I am an idiot! I am not 15 years old to fall in the childish traps.
What matters for me is not my reputation but to transmit spirits wisdom, because people may find the advice they need for walking in the Light with firmness, with courage, with strength, without feeling hung-up, guilty or shy to take important decisions for themselves. Spirits themselves want that their words of wisdom be spread because they work very hard on changing the mentalities on the planet. And because I know that spiritual evolution is dependent on the clearance of the thoughts, I tend to insist on « changing the thinking patterns » and the self-discipline or the self-control.
I am reading the trance seances reports of White Ray, through Paulette Austen right now (between 1938 & 1966 ; she knew Leslie Flint). White Ray is a better advocate than me! :
. Seance report on Pages 127-128 « World Politics » was talking about the eventuality of creating a system of exchange. It has become a reality : now thousands of forums exist on Internet. In fact there are so much now on Internet that the people have really plenty choices. If a forum does not please them, they can still find others, or create their own forum… No need to use censorship, or to try to sabotage the harmony on others’ forum with the bad manners!
A forum is a very important place of exchange. We like our forum and we will protect it, so that it will have a long life! Everyone should be able to come in peace, with open mind and open heart, on the forum for learning from each other, and to be treated with respect. If people come on the forum with the thought of getting only spiritual advice, it would be very good. But if they come for more earthly matters and dark revenge, as if all the world was responsible of the evil treatments they received while they were young, and all their harms, sickness and problems, then I am afraid they would go as they came. I cannot also be responsible if some leave themselves open to the negative manipulations and the misinterpretations of the unstable ones whose mentalities are in the dark and who wish to divide and destroy. They have to learn the discernment and use their common sense.
People assassinated their scapegoat Rasputin, saying that he was responsible of all their problems, politic crisis, wars, disease, sickness, famine, unemployment, poverty, disharmony in the families, banishments from different places or societies, unsafety, etc. But after the death of Rasputin, they realised that their problems were still there… FEAR, HATE, LIES to try to discredit him and ugly manipulations has not succeed to make an evil TORTURER of him.
From the same book, page 111:
« You go to schools when you are children, you are taught how to read, how to write, how to earn your bread, how to respect and cultivate good citizenship. You are taught also, because in your world there are people of low mentality and understanding, to close the door of your house to those people lest they might come in and upset and wreck your home (A home is not a brothel for those who like the scandals and like to divide in order to conquer. Treats and encouragements are for those who try hard to reform their personalities). Yes, you are told to do those things, and yet you are not told how to protect yourselves from those who have low mentality and understanding in the spirit world… There you lay yourselves open, through your ignorance, to all the burglars, psychic burglars, who will come and spoil your brain.»

I copy here the exerpts that, may be, will provide a detail that you may need in this period of your life.
1- WORLD POLITICS Pages 127-128 (about Internet System of Exchange too): "It is possible to ease the political and economic situation in your world with the different systems that you have now. It is difficult, though, without improvement of the human mind, to create a system with sure and strong foundation. You see the minds of men at present are in turmoil. THERE IS MISTRUST, THERE IS FEAR AND THERE IS WANT. How can one nation exist and prosper while another would starve and have strife?
If all of you lived in one house, and two or three cared for the house, but the others did not, the house would soon be a crumbling thing, because two or three took care of their part, while the others were careless about theirs and never tried to come to an understanding.
You would say, « Let us be kind and do all we can for our brothers ». That is necessary, Yes. BUT DO NOT FORGET THAT WHILE BEING KIND, YOU MUST BE FIRM TOO (I say: To be kind, but not stupid!). You must understand, before you work for the foundation of the ideal system, that there is no possibility without the co-operation of others and there is no possibility IF THERE IS SO MUCH RIVALRY.
You come from different parts of the world, your mentalities are different, your thoughts and your aspirations. You all have a sense of BEAUTY – but what one thinks is beauty, the other will not like. You have to learn tolerance, and yet tolerance does not mean you must give up all your own likings and interests. It is rather the realisation that you have your own knowledge, and everyone else has knowledge, too.
You create states in your world. You have men who are ready to enforce the laws of those states. That is good if it is good law, especially if it is an understood law – for few men will break a law which they understand and respect; they must have the law explained to them while they are children.
Do not think that by trying to merge nations into one on your Earth, you are going to accomplish unity. It is not so, for around you in the same country, you will find different interests, different tastes.
Why not work together and create Councils? (Or Forums of exchange) Yes, it is good to have Councils of different parts of the world - I do not say nations, for I do not like the word – but different parts of the world, that is right. These councils would be able to discuss and represent their own people, their own brothers and sisters, which you should all try to understand, and they would create a system of exchange between the different parts of the world, an exchange which would BAN the spirit of competition between each other.
There should be competition in the sense in which you can best make life easier for your fellow human beings, but not competition to outwit and leave behind – rather a system of barter which will enable every people to produce what they are best suited to produce, which they know that they can safely exchange with their brethren over the oceans and seas. So that they can too depend on each other.
You will say, with the spirit, as it is today, there will be misunderstanding in words. There is nothing like a need of each other. So grow to need each other, and grow not to resent the need you have of each other. For, do not misunderstand, however strong and mighty you might feel, if you are alone, you are nothing.
Your spirit is only strong when you have learned how to depend on others. There cannot be evolution alone. You cannot achieve it without need for each other, the need for your neighbour, your own country-people and abroad – and the knowledge that no place on Earth can have perfect inhabitants, for if your world were perfect, it would have no need to exist."
2- THEOSOPHY AND SPIRITUALISM page 124-125 : … « Theosophy has much to learn from Spiritualism, and Spiritualism has much to learn from Theosophy. I will say my friends that, Spiritualism, as you call it, has a tendency to become as orthodox as the ritual which you condemn very often in rather slashing words on your side. You have much to learn from every religion. Indeed, no so much from the words, but some of their principles. You have much to learn of THE UNITY of the Orthodox Church.
I do not like orthodoxy. The Christian church and many other orthodox religions failed the world. Some on your side say it is because of their greed, their bigotry or their jealousy, which unhappily exist. But the churches of the orthodox Christian religion have not failed because of these things; neither will Spiritualism; neither will Theosophy. All will fail (unless they do something about it on your side, and very speedily) because of their UNCHARITABLE ATTITUDE ( & JUDGEMENT) towards any fellow being who does not agree with them.
All movements will fail, as other churches have failed, if they refuse to put themselves in the place of the sinner; by JUDGING when they have no right to judge. And they will fail if, like the orthodox, they rely on remote, stale and out-of-date teachings. Many come to God with FEAR as the only incentive. Religion should try to make better men and women, NOT INSTIL A FEAR OF THE OTHER WORLD. When people are sorry for mistakes, they should not FEAR.
Why do you send a child to school? If it does not realise its mistakes, the lessons have to be re-learned, but it does not mean there will be eternal punishment. YOU HAVE ALL TO JUDGE YOURSELVES. You do not come before God as before a judge, but you will know whether, when you had the chance of looking at the other fellow’s point of view, you tried to find what good was in him so that you too could bring to him what you know.
Have no fear of hearing of a different belief, for if your belief is strong enough and based upon strong proof it will not change. If your mind changes, it is only because your belief was not strong enough, and you had better lose it than keep it. Ask for your proof, and then go forward thankful for knowing that nothing can shake the belief you have, but knowing also that others may have different beliefs and you may learn much from them. This is what made orthodoxy a failure – THE LESSON OF THE SHEPHERD WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO KEEP THE FLOCK TOGETHER.
The action of the spirit is true and good, providing that your judgement and your intelligence are well applied, and Spiritualism teaches forbearance and EVOLUTION OF THE MIND. You have much to learn from one another. Theosophy can learn much from you, from the understanding of the simple facts. You can learn from them, without applying extremes, the philosophy which they go into more deeply than the average Spiritualist. »
