yes, 13 of 22 starters are seniors but how many have started more than 1 year. Playing experience is the most important thing at this level of play.
A team plays how they practice, games are won by being perpared both physically and mentally. I feel the close games are being loss because of the additional pressure on the kickers. Look at the way they are treated by special teams coach when coming off the feild after a missed field goal. It is a lot of pressure in kicking an x-pt, 3 thing must go right, a good snap, a good hold and then a good foot on the ball. What changed from this season to last season for our kicker. A new holder & new snapper or does the kicker have issues mental or physical ? The problem is only one of three things this should be easy to solve experience and time working together to get it right. At practice are all 3 working on kicking the ball or are the kickers just using the kicking tee ? We lost alot of games due to the kicking game we need work here - JUST DO IT !

LU talent has depth. The opposing 6'6" recievers are getting behind our short 6'0" LB's and then the shorter DB's are behind the receivers. Which makes the catching the ball easy for the reciever. A taller LB would make a world of difference for the pass defense. The depth charts shows younger LB's over 6'5" I guess we will have to wait and see them play next year.

Coen is going to be a great coach, only if he surrounds himself with great assistant coaches he needs to make changes to his staff quickly.
Pressure is on this staff goes right thru the team, old saying sh_ _ rolls down hill. Apparent in our out come week after week. Fans would love to see this coaching staff succeed but start looking outside the box and make things happen.

The inexperience Coen is referring to on offense is obviously the QB and on Defense the corners. He's not going to single people out.I believe they will be very good players. Most of the mistakes in the LU secondary come from the corners.
However, I happen to believe the seniors are the heart and soul of this "young" team, along with the Junior linebacking group, particularly Cohen and Pierce. As far as talent goes, LU is at worst a 7-2 football team right now. All the preseason talk about the LU talent not being up to snuff because of this or that is all BS. It's their and it's their now. YES, i know the fact is LU is 3-6, but NOT due to the lack of talent, or waiting for younger talent to develop. It's here now, that's the frustrating thing.

Linebackers aren't supposed to be able to cover 6'6 wide receivers(it's a mismatch on any level), regardless of height and who's 6'5 waiting in the wings; and DB's, particularly corners, don't need to be over 6'0. In pro football most of your corners are under 6'0. Also, big, fast and physical safeties are a rare find at this level. So why all this nonsensical talk about height?

Heck we already have a 6'7" LB that plays. 2 frosh at 6'4" and 2 at 6'3" ,some of whom will move to DL, I would think Lasher and Mihal. Martin and Groome stay at LB for now.

None of which helps a 5'11" cb cover a 6'6" wr.
