Unbelievable that they can't play basketball anymore in Grace other than having fans in the end two end zones. That is where the students hang out now at the games they do attend, so I would try a game in Grace with only end zone seats.

So it appears they have messed up Grace for wrestling and now basketball as well. Pretty but disfunctional facility.

Perhaps the Colgate game is a good one to try in Grace since we seem to have similar support. Certainly, Colgate won't bring any fans like St. Joes did.

Buses are as inconvenient as posted above for Stabler. Can't take a bus to catch only part of the game and can't get back until after the game. Very fan unfriendly situation.

With proper marketing and a good team, kids will go. The same excuses about transportation were made 20 years ago, and they didn't hold up when there was a great game and the media hyped it

I wouldn't waste two hours of my time and $X watching Lehigh play Albany.

Also, they need to get more fans from the community. But that won't happen with a so-so team playing a so-so opponent.

Queenan/Polaha, etc., were exciting ...

1. The current Lehigh team is better than the Queenan/Polaha teams were. Queenan and Polaha were very good and very exciting, but LU's record for the three years they played together was 48-43. And that was against schedules weaker than LU schedules of today.

2. Albany is a better team than most of the teams that Queenan/Polaha faced.

3. Lehigh did not draw well during the Queenan/Polaha days. For the five year when one or both were on Lehigh, the average attendance was 1285. The average attendance for the three years when both played together was 1592. Their final season - when LU won 21 games and went to the NCAA - attendance skyrocketed to just over 2300.

A number of top programs play off-campus. St Johns, Georgetown and Seton Hall come to mind.

UCLA plays football miles from campus at the Rose Bowl.

Do you really believe that a student that is an ardent fan will miss a game due to a 5 min bus ride or because they can't bum a ride from a friend with a car?

Lehigh has traditionally led the PL in football attendance and in near the top nationally in wrestling attendance-----because hitorically it's been a football and wrestling school located in the Lehigh Valley----a hotbed for football and wrestling. It's also been nationally ranked in those sports in this decade.

It will take time and work to develop Lehigh into a bball school-------but complaining on a web board won't change anything.

Better to enjoy the season and bring your friends to a game
