First of all, Grace Hall is NOT a venue worthy of Division I athletics for basketball. It is on campus, has cachet and history and all that - but where, praytell, would people park? That's the biggest bugaboo that never seems to be discussed when the thought about moving any sporting event primarily on campus is discussed.

Second of all, Stabler can work, but it needs a serious fan-friendly facelift. Like adding seats that go down to court level - right now, the players play in a "bowl" which separates fans from the action. Like having family-friendly inflatable bounces, etc. that aren't on the main floor, far away from where fans are seated. Do something about concessions, which are structured so that lines (and missing a good 10 minutes of play) are a guaranteed part of the experience. Upgraded scoreboard. Removal of the steel bars, which ruin sight lines. I could go on and on.

Unsurprisingly, it will call for creativity, money, and dedication to make things better for the b-ball team.

Parking for basketball games played in Grace is a non-event. There plenty of parking between Zoellner, Alumni Memorial Building and campus open parking. 2000 wrestling fans don't have a problem parking on campus at night or weekends when there is no staff working.

Most mens basketball games have less than 800 fans and certainly all the women's games could be played in Grace with their 300 fans. Having the stands in the end courts doesn't matter if that is the only direction they can play in Grace because of the ill-conceived renovation.

Move all women's games to Grace except maybe Lafayette and move all Men's games except those that expect a crowd over 1000.
