Subject: Summer workouts??

Anyone have any info on players working out this summer on campus? I hear comments from other FCS schools of players organizing summer conditioning and 7 on 7 drills....wondering if our folks are doing the same.

A good turn out of kids for summer workouts. Actualy, more kids spending the summer on campus than the past 3-4 years from what I've seen. There are a couple kids missing that I would like to see there that probably have summer jobs and hopefully are working hard at home. That doesn't help with continuity, but it's the nature of the beast. A few rumors about injuries, we shall see.

Whether players can stick around depends on the availability of summer jobs. The University tries to get interested alumni who have that ability to hire players for the summer so they can work out together. This summer, with the poor economy, it is tougher to get good paying summer jobs.

Have not heard much about any serious injuries. Turnout has indeed been higher this year. Highest I would guess since Lembo years.

I don't want to restart the Coen /Lembo debate. However, since the players seem to like Coen better than they liked Lembo, I am wondering why the summer turnout would have been higher during the Lembo years?

I'm not sure anyone can substantiate the numbers for summer work outs Lembo versus Coen, nor do I think it's worth it to do so. The fact remains, the numbers out this year are very good, let's leave it at that.

I did hear though that one of the young talented recievers that got time last year and was expected to make a big impact this year has left the team. I dont know the name, but he was a local kid. Does anyone have info?

Also, has anyone noticed how thin we are at the RB position? with the history of injuries, I would have thought we would have recruited there a little more?

Would it be Ruyak from Liberty that left? I don't remember seing him play at all but I do recall him as a pretty good high school player. Or are you thinking of Donchez who was eligible for a 5th year but decided to take a great job offer instead?

Ruyak is still on the roster on the website. Donchez turned down a 5th for a very good job offer.

I've been told theres 30+ guys working out daily and they are slowly bringing in incoming freshman; four to five currently here getting accustomed to Lehigh. All Working hard. Saw a little of the workout as I was leaving the LAMA's lecture. Nice 30 second peek at a little passing 7 on 7. Drake, watch out!!!
