Subject: Constructive Criticism

How's it going everybody. I know I shouldn't really be posting on here, but I am curious and eager to hear all of your opinions. I have been working EXTREMELY hard this offseason trying to get ready for August. What I want to know from you guys is what you think, based on my tape, I should focus on getting better at and improving so that I can come into camp as prepared as possible. I need your feedback because I am not at all interested in being a "sideline freshman," I want to contribute to the team however I can (scout team, special teams, LB ANYTHING), and I need you guys to let me know how I can do so.

Thanks in advance and here is the link to my tape if you don't have it.

Bryce,

VERY impressive. You look to have good speed, knowledge of the game, and strong upper body strength!

I was most impressed at the end of the tape (and here) when I saw that "eye of the tiger" in you. I think that's what it's all about. If you can keep up that drive, that desire, things WILL work out during your college career.

But . . .

none of this means anything unless you see yourself as a student first, and take care of business there. Also as a fine citizen.

My second favorite team, Alabama, is having problems with several players who believe their stats are so important they can do whatever they want off the field. That's not reality. Not everyone is a football fan.

As a fprmer player from waaaay back I echo the sentiments of "Neighbor". First and formost be the best student you can be....you don;t stay in the program unless you stay in school....anbd LU is tough - so learn to schedule time and minimize distractions. Watch out for fraternities. They can be a distraction...if you join...make it a non jock house....expand your circle of friends byond the program. You will make friends on the team anyhow...with your play. As for FB prep....get in the wieght room - work on your legs and core strength....then run....run for speed - run for endurance....the forth quarter is everything...and victiory goes to the prepared. You can demoralize an opponent when you line you with the same intensity with 10 mins to go as you did the first play. Recognize the odds of going pro are slim...but the odds of winning championships, bulding life long friendships, and future career networks is huge. Time management and commitment to preparation off the field and in the classroom sets you up to meet both short term and long term goals. Have a great career and have fun.

Good luck. 1st school next football

Adjusting to size and speed of players you'll meet this summer is hardest. most are All State ,county or conference etc. 808 is correct wghts for core strength, not show muscles, and run and then run some more. Camp is hard enuf helps to be in best shape possible.

Again good luck.

If this is an actual posting by an actual player, you should beg the administrator to remove it or the other big boys will have an immense laugh at your expense.

I would work on my critical thinking skills!!! Why would you be posting on a message board?

I agree with most of what has been offered above....as well as the previous comment about this place. No place for a player to hang out. Too many highly critical people with agendas..Plus you shouldn't have time for places like this once you're in school. Time managment will be critical. All the best to you!!

Step 1- Gain about 25 pounds

Step 2- Be prepared to run scount team all year. Very few Freshmen play much and expecting to play will just dissapoint you. Your goal should be to make the travel team--good 1st step for a frosh.

Step 3- Dont ask FB advice from this crowd. A few guys like ngineer know what is up, but the rest are a bunch of clowns. Talk to the coaches
