Subject: Navy's far from a class act

Although we're in the midst of a brutal war and I agree that the BU women's basketball team should've toned down their post-game celebration, I also want to open Patriot League fans' eyes to the disrespectul comments that regularly were spouted out by the "honorable" Midshipmen who sat, in uniform, in the stands--at least during my playing days.

In my four years of playing, cadets regularly shouted innapropriate comments my teammates and me. Full-grown men (and some women) who represented our country yelled about our looks, our skills, our weight and our sex life to the point of it being crude. Never did I witness a Navy official tell a male cheerleader to stop yelling tastless comments through his megaphone, or ask a plebe to stop making flatulence noises while players are at the foul line.
Are servicemen that untouchable? How is it that it's fair game for cadets to call a 19 year-old woman a slut or a pig or ask her to pleasure him, but yet an opposing team's celebration on Navy's court is somehow morally irresponsible?

This argument sounds a tad bit hypocritical....but then again, when our nation's being led by the ultimate hypocrite, what else can you expect.

They were fans and you were not competing against them. You were competing against the Navy team. You can't hold them responsible for the actions of others, only themselves. There is no indication that the Navy players were disrespectable to BUs players during the game. BU should have respected them. If they wanted to give the finger to the Navy fans when they left the arena, nobody would have cared.
