Let's get a 2-1 with Wake Forest. That would be a great game for Lewisburg. Any chance in hell Skip would do this?

It would be great but I think it's a million to 1 shot. We're a lot better now than when Jay Wright agreed to do it, and he only agreed because he's an alum. For Wake, it would be a long plane ride (unless they charter) followed by a long bus ride to play a game that they might lose. And on top of that, it is certainly possible that Mark Prosser will have moved on to a different coaching job by the 2007-08 season.

There might be a chance, however, to get a "buy" game or two at Wake.

dont forget that skip may be the head coach at cincinnati (his alma mater) as early as next year, too.

it would be a good game, though. i always like to see solid academic institutions play one another (even if the standards for the basketball players are different).

Good point. Given his record at Xavier, I know that he is at the top of the Cinci list and I believe he still owns a home there. He isn't a Cinci grad, though. He actually went to Kings Point and later grad school at West Virginia. He grew up in the Pittsburgh area.

I don't know if you all remember that Dec. 13th game when Wake Forest was playing DePaul on ESPN and DePaul beat Wake? Well that was suppose to be us playing Wake, but apparently the rumor is the University wouldn't let us play that game because it was during finals. Hopefully something can get worked out for next year. It sure would be great!

From talking with sources that are part of the team, I have heard that Skip doesn't want to play against Mark. For whatever reason he doesn't want to compete against his son because of the stress it would cause. It is just his personal feeling that he doesnt want to do it for whatever reason. In summary, you won't see it happen.

Flannery is going to have to get creative when scheduling for the next few years. We will still manage to get some big name opponents, but he may have to look outside the box to get them (especially 2 for 1's). This may involve scheduling more random and further away schools like Big 12 or Big 10 programs. I would really like to see the Bison go to Kansas for a rematch sometime. I bet Kansas would schedule that to try to get some payback. Also, Flannery and Bo Ryan are friends, so how about a 2 for 1 with Wisconsin, since Ryan has Central PA ties. What about renewing games with former opponents like Michigan State, Rutgers, Notre Dame, etc...

Also, whoever BU plays in the BracketBuster is obligated to play AT Bucknell next year, so it looks like UNI may be coming to town.

Gonzaga is not one of the BB teams--and you do not want any part of them on their court. They handled Santa Clara in the Leavey Center, where we never really made a dent. Any of our potential match-ups will be tough on the road, but I do not think we could beat Gonzaga at their home.

Bucknell is still ESPN's darling right now, despite Duke, so we are going to get a tv matchup against a good team on their court, and it will really be the only remaining game this season in which a win will do us some good as far as poll and seeding consideration. If we lose any of our other PL games we are hurt ( and it will not be easy to run the PL table).

We are the 2nd highest ranked away team according to Pomeroy (44th vs Missouri St at 41) Missouri State is an MVC team and thus is ineligible to play home teams Creighton or N. Iowa, both of whom I think could be potential Bison opponents.Wisconsin Milwaukke (another Cinderella last year may also be an attrctive matchup from ESPN's pov, but may have hurt themselves with last weekends loss to UW Green Bay. I just feel N.Iowa is on our horizon.

plenty of time to discuss this later, but since you started... next year home scheduling is a huge challenge. right now two games on the books (bb return game and i assume Rider is the second). i believe we have committed aways at St. Joe's, Villanova, Yale and Cornell. we are looking for three home and home series to begin at Sojka to fill out a 12 game home schedule. that is going to be tough as a lot of teams don't want sign up for at Bucknell with McNaughton. i am worried we end up with one or more D3s next year to fill the home schedule.

Bucknell will no doubt be the marquee Bracket Buster matchup. Although Missouri State has a higher RPI, I think Bucknell is regarded more highly nationally thanks to some of the marquee wins. Bucknell should wind up in a primetime slot at 7PM or 9PM. I agree UNI is very probable, especially considering the fact that Valley teams can't play each other. Nevada may be possible, but I hope we wouldn't be forced to fly that far in the middle of league play...Hawaii would be even worse!

This actually will be a big game. After the tough Duke loss on national TV, it would nice to see a strong performance in front of a national audience. Lunardi still says BU can get an at large bid if they lose to HC in the PL final and lose to nobody other than HC in league. A strong Bracket Buster win would held that case and would definitely improve our seed should we make the tourney. However, I think the best seed we could hope for is an 8 or 9. Quite frankly, I would rather stay a 10, 11, or 12, b/c I would give us just as good of a shot in the first round and then would set us up for a slightly easier second round...But I am getting VERY ahead of myself...Let's just beat Colgate on Saturday!
