My recollection of Hurley's style of play is a bit foggy, other than I think he was a bit taller and stronger, a pure power forward type. Evans is an athletic 6'6" (maybe closer to 6'5") who can jump, rebound, run the floor, and block shots. Currently he is thin and his outside shooting, based on what I have read and heard, is probably so-so at present. He is more likely a wing forward than a power forward. Is that a Hurley-type player?

i guess not really. what triggered the connection for me was: strong offensive rebounder, an aggressive player and more of a scorer than a shooter. Hurley definitely played the four and at least by the end of his career was a bit bigger. even if my comparison is invalid, if the comparison on the traits are accurate, i'll take him for my team any time.
