Now that it's starting to get a bit chilly in Manitoba (minus 43 a couple nights ago)I am noticing a couple things with my 92 4x4 22RE.
1. Surging on idle when cold. After about 5 minutes into a cold start, it starts surging from 500 to 1200 RPM. This continues until it reaches operating temp.
2. Takes a long time for the heater to start blowing heat. The temp guage goes to the middle as usual, but it takes forever for heat to start from the heater. This is much different from previous years.

Any thoughts? BTW my timing chain replacement with '81 steel guides is going strong after almost 2 years. By this time I would have started to notice timing chain chatter with the plastic guides

Thanks!

Andy
