Subject: Is it too late to retorque a 22RE head?

Well, is it too late to retorque a 22RE head? I rebuilt my engine 2 or 3k ago with no leaks or head slug build up. in an earlier post I read EB say "it is a good idea to retorque hot, we suggest to 60 at this step." So do I back out the bolts (in sequence) 1/4 of a turn and retorque to 60? (in sequence) Thanks for your wisdom BTW what are some good message bords? t4x4.com is getting a bit childish and unreliable...
