Drain your coolant the day before you do the cam swap and you'll lessen your chances of floating the head off the block. Let it drain all night(hose off, plug out, etc.) I heard this a while back but have never tried it. Make sure you pull your plugs(a certain manual fails to mention this).
That way if you happen to need to turn the crank with the head bolts loose, then the compression wont push out your head gasket. You shouldnt have to turn the crank tho, just leave it at TDC from the start. Good luck.
