We went to Raki in July, and the beach was as it always is, relaxed and friendly on the most part. As stated there are areas where swingers and gays go, in the bushes at the far end of the beach, but this is easily avoided. I did notice that there were a couple of single Greek guys who always made a bee line to sit staring at females who chose to sit at the far end of the row of sunbeds. These ladies did not seem to mind, and one actively encouraged them, but these too can be dissuaded with ease. I was so happy with the situation on this beach that this was my third visit (over about 10 years), and we have booked to return to the same apartment again next year- we stayed at the Lakis Apartment which is a 10 minute walk away, round Kathara Bay. Incidentally, we ate at a taverna called 'Marias' (NOT Marios) opposite the church on the small harbour. This we found to be the best in the area, serving authentic Greek food, at reasonable prices.
