The seats in Greece tend to be of the thin, flimsy plastic variety. Conesquently, over time the hinges break and the seat parts company with the toilet bowl. This is probably due to misuse (i.e standing on it or using it as a foot stool to dry off) as well as regular 'wear and tear'. I imagine the proprietors become fed up replacing them all the time. This year we also had to replace a faulty shower head and restock the kitchen with knives, cups and glasses. However, for me, this is all part of the fun of going to Grecce. I love every minute of it and I'll be back for more next year!
