Naxos is really fantastic. Not too many tourist, nudist friendly, a huge number of beautiful and almost secluded beaches. I spent a week in July 2005 there. However, a car is strongly recommended (Plaka is the only nudist beach that can be accessed by a bus). I recommend almost all beaches in the western part (long sandy beaches), especially Kastraki. Kalandos in the south is marvelous but a long way from Chora. You can also find some secluded beaches in the eastern part of the island. The island itself is beautiful, unusually green for the Cyclades. I am going to visit Naxos this July again. Samos is quite a different story. Many places, for example Karlovasi, have a strange industrial look. Also, some places, for example Vathy, look somehow worn-out. However, if you rent a car, there are fantastic places to visit: the Potami falls, Mikro and Megalo Seitani (a very good hike to the beaches through a forest), marvelous Agios Ioanis. There is also a very good organized nude beach Tsamadou in the north of the island. There are many very interesting historic places like Efpalinio tunnel, Ireon, ...
