I think a good way to break the journey up into pleasant size parts is;

AFternoon: London - Paris. Evening meal in Paris
Evening: Overnight train to Milan (sleeper), breakfast in Milan.
Morning: Milan to Ancona
Afternoon / night: Boat to Ancona. Relax on deck, shower, eat, drink. Wake up in Igoumenitsa.

If you go from Venice, the boat journey is longer. If you go from Bari or Brindisi, the train journey is too long and there's nothing worth seeing down that route anyway.

A good site to check out train information is
