Subject: Laggeri beach Paros update August 2009

 Just returned form Naoussa after a gap of five years.
Stayed at the Windmill apartments with pool near Agia Anageri Beach- first class really superb.

Went to Hotel Aliprantis for breakfast each morning still good.Dined at Open Garden- pricey but good, Hotel Minoa, still as good as always was, and the taverna on the main road to Lageri- Siperos- good ocean views and nice food, again pricey- upmarket.

Lageri....... not the idyll it once was, still good sand, swimming and natural shade.My first weekend was a greek holiday, 90%clothed 10% au naturel. In the week let's say 60% clothed, 40% au naturel. As it was very windy the boats did not go, so fewer people. At the boat end, a pontoon landing stage is there for one of the new houses, and the swanky boat moored in the bay !! At this end also set back new foundations for another house !!
At the south end, on the hill top there are 5 shells of buildings, looks like the money ran out, but are a blot on the landscape, if completed, the nature of the place will change........

I think it is now time to look for a ' ne lageri ' there must be one out there in the islands- any views.

I feel much has been lost...........
