Date Posted: Fri, September 08 2006, 19:23:50 Just back from my annual trip to Paros. Despite my fears that Lageri would lose its character I am pleased to report no change from last year with no obvious signs of any new development. The only problem was the lack of people-on Tuesday of last week in the middle of the afternoon I guess there were no more than 20 -25 people there , 90% nude, but sadly the mix of male/female couples and broad minded family groups was sadly missing. This may be due to the Meltemi wind which blew strongly every day I was in Paros- it seems that the windy season has moved from late July/ August into September . This prevented the boats from Naoussa from sailing and it is a long walk around the bay ( which I did twice daily) unless you wait for the Santa Maria bus. However as the outlying villages on the island develop, particularly in the south of the island around Alyki there are plenty of alternatives for family groups ( Faragas being a particularly good example) and it would be a shame if the entirely laudable and beneficial aims of naturism as expounded by he Captain's site are brought into disrepute by certain groups for whom a sexual motive seems paramount. Lageri, as previous reports on the site will confirm, is one of the gems of the Cyclades and open to all irrespective of colour, religion or sexual gender. It would be a great shame if it gained a reputation for the type of activity which would drive genuine naturists away. Perhaps I am being unduly concerned basing my thoughts on just a seven day period but for some it would only take one incident to make them look elsewhere.
