Hi Hazy,

All timings and prices below are only from memory.

Basically you can get to Naxos 4 ways:
1) Plane from Athens (Don't know price, takes about 1 hour)
2) High Speed Ferry from Piraeus (Leave 07:30, cost 50 Euros [business class], time around 3.5 hours)
3) Standard Blue Star Ferry from Piraeus (Leave 7:30, cost 38 Euros [deck class], time 5 hours)
4) Occasional other old ferries from Piraeus - cheap but very slow.

Buses and taxis meet the arriving ferries. If you have booked in advance good hoteliers meet the ferry and take you out to their location, if you haven't booked many hoteliers meet the ferry and transport you to their hotel (of course you can't be sure that if you want to go beyond the Aghia Prokopios, Aghia Anna, Plaka areas that appropriate hoteliers will be there on the day you arrive).

We have been travelling in Greece since 1978 (often twice a year and sometime three times). Naxos is still our favourite island (out of 35) and the beaches at Aghia Anna & Plaka are some of the nicest in Greece. If you do go, have a great visit!
