If you want cheap meals, you should visit the largest super-market available in your area (don't expect megastores in the islands, of course), and try to make some yourself. In tavernas, it really depends on what you order. A two person meal should cost you about 25-40 euros in total. If you want to save money once or twice, you can easily get the famous two pittas with souvlaki (they cost about 2 euros each) and get your stomach full (and get very happy as well!). You shouldn't expect really higher prices compared to last year. Some taxes (i.e VAT) have increased, but people are trying to keep prices stable.
