Yes there are gay nudists in Tingaki but they get together in the middle part of the nudist area. It would be ok if they were nudists but they are not. Many are there to pick up other gay males and then go behind the dunes to do their business. If you stay at the beach where the nudist beach begins you will be fine. In September the beach gets quite crowded so you will not feel isolated. My experience is that if you ignore the females they will not feel threatened. After a couple of days you can even talk to the regulars.
