Subject: Parrie Lee Lewis-- Anestors and descendents

I am the great-great granddaughter of Peter Lewis. He may also have been known as Peter Mack Lewis. He was of 3/4 to full blood Cherokee Indian. His story has been passed down through generations that he had 20 brothers and sisters, and every other birth in his family were twins. He was originally from Virginia or West Virginia. His story also continues that he ran away from a plantation of some type around the age of 12, and at a young age "stopped along the river" married and had 6 children. One of his 6 children was named Parrie Lee. Parrie Lee lived in Claremore Oklahoma and visited a step sister in Arkansas named Iwilda Lewis Gragg (by Peter's 3rd marriage). I am trying to find any record of Peters' family in Claremore, Oklahoma, or anyone who may have known or knows this family. We are tracing our family roots.
