Hi. My dog went into heat the day before my family away for Thanksgiving vacation. We had people that came over to check on her, bring her in, and feed her and everything, but otherwise they left her out back. There is a loose German Shepard that has been running around and coming in our yard. I don't know how long to wait to see if she is pregnant. She's been showing some signs(i.e. eating less, sleeping more, becoming very proctective of herself,etc.). If anyone has any advise, please let me know. my dog also mated several times in june it is now the 13 of august it takes up to some times 68 days as song as your dog has droped milk and is gettint milk at her teats she will have them soon you should count from the middle of her heat cycle to about 63 days that is an aproxamate tho just keep watching her making sure she aint hurting and in reas stress if so ck with your vet.

dogs stay pregnent for 9 to 12 weeks depends on the dog and the breed.

HI, you should expect to have puppies 61 to 63 day depending on the dog.

My dog had just turned one and then she started her period for the second time. Right after this the boy dog started mating with her. (i have two dogs) I am not sure if she is pregant but i don' want to wait untill the signs are really visable because i have heard that if the dog jumps or if she fights too mush she can lose the puppies.

Hi I have a miniature schnauzer and she was bred around the 5th of Sept. I can actually set and watch the puppies move and she has had milk for about 1 week now. Is is time for her to go into labor and have the puppies? Please e-mail me back if you can help.

My Golden is 9 weeks pregant tomorrow ( or so we think)
She has had milk dischrage from her teets the last two days, but her stomach is smill, not distented and we cant see or feel anything. She "caught" twice with her stud, but not for very long. This is her first litter, but is she really pregnant, and if so how soon?!

Signs of labor are restlessness,no intrest in food,and "nest making" (which is digging or tearing things up as if making a nest for her pups). To find stages of labor and how long they are go to http://www.hilltopanimalhospital.com/reproduction.htm. They can explain it alot better than I can. Small dogs, and in particular chihuahuas, tend to have trouble in labor so you need to know when she's ready so you can be with her and call the vet if any thing goes wrong. Not doing so COULD result in the loss of the lives of your puppies and possibly your dog. It doesn't always but it's always good to be prepared! Good luck to you and your dog!!! Hi,I have a black and white pit bull, she has been in heat for a couple a weeks now and in her mid heat, we mated her with another red and white pit bull. They got stuck at least a good 3 times as far as i seen and no telling what they did when I lefted them in the garage for about 8 hours for a couple of days. Know she's acting lazy and is very very picky over her food. All she do is sleep,sleep,sleep. Her stomach is getting a little bigger and her nipples are big and pink. We mated her 2/7/04 they got stuck then and about 1/2 2 weeks before that. They got stuck twice then. I don't know what they did in the garage. So tell me what you think and email me.

If your dog mated and got tied them there is at least a 95% chance that she is pregnant. All those things you mentioned
(getting tired,increased nipple size,getting fatter) are all signs of pregnancy too.
