This story was leaked to the public too early. The actor who played Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart didn't want to do it. Stories sometimes change as they get ready to go into production. We were suppose to be introduced to Son of Doctor Who, and maybe one day we will. This new incarnation of the longest running Science Fiction series, lacks the substance of the original early days with William Hartnel, who was followed by many others with very different versions of personality, and even different Accent, which doesn’t make sense, if they are all the same person. David Tennant in my opinion is not very good in this role, and his presence here ruins the original concept. He might be a good actor playing wimpy washed out roles with cheap comedy, but he’s no Doctor Who. I know Doctor Who. We worked together. He was my friend. You sir are no Doctor Who. HA, HA, just a little political humor if you know what I mean.
