ENGINE COSTS!!!

If you loosen the cars, you cannot get the power to the ground; thus, high dollar engines are not a big advantage.

This was the INTENT of the "stock" engine classes and is why we have a hard 'spec' tire and a small 10ft wing. Removing the nose wing will further loosen the car by forcing you to move the downforce generated by the top wing FORWARD to rebalance the car. Anytime you remove weight (aerodynamic downforce in this case) from the rear tires, you will not be able to apply as much power to track, thus negating the need for huge amounts of horsepower. This factor is greatly magnified when using 'hard' rear tires.

I am sad to say that the NMMA did REMOVE the 40 durometer LR tire rule for 2007. I don't understand why, but that is the fact. Makes NO sense to remove this tire rule, then apply the no-nose wing rule, but it was OUR racers that complained about the tire rule and got it removed. Once again, we racers are our OWN worst enemy when it comes to cost containment! SPEND AWAY!
