Subject: Singles

I have been going to SS for over 15 years and I have NEVER seen anyone make ANY profit at this level of racing anywhere in the country! Even if you win a $10,000 to win race you still will lose money! If you figure initial cost of the car, tire costs, fuel costs, torn up parts cost, entry fees, time, etc. you will always lose money at this level of racing! It has been posted that A class only makes $75 for a feature win. And if memory serves me correctly multi's make $225 if there is 16 or more cars which there has been and they have the most expenses anyway (don't argue that a single costs more, I've owned both and I can assure you the multi costs a lot more if you want to be competitive at any and every track and event). And as far as I'm concerned if the Multis continue to have a full feild, then they are the BEST to watch anyway (and I don't even own a multi anymore)! So lets get over the payout for the singles class!

I agree that the singles have a big fan base but don't put posts on this board about how they have the only fan base! I personally have several fans down every week! Most of my fans pay MORE money and come into the pits! Just because they don't sit in the grandstands doesn't mean that there aren't other fans there! I also must admit that everyone that comes down the first time always bad mouth the singles for the same reason as previously posted (loud, smokey, etc.)! However, I personally defend them with 2 things. 1) We started with a single ourselves, they are what made this sport. Yes they are a bit annoying but they love the sport just as much as the rest of us. And they deserve our respect, apprieciation, and gratitude! 2) They are only a decable or two louder they are just a different tone that isn't as easy on the ears. So I would say that both are right! Technically they are louder but that isn't what makes them seem louder! They are a two stroke engine and therefor the pipe they need to use makes a different sound than a 600. It is the tone that makes them earpiercing.

So lets just all go racing together and HAVE FUN! Because ultimately that is what we are all there to do anyway!
