Actually, no, I wasn't "getting at you," and I have NO idea who you are, where you are, or what you do [aside from what you just mentioned]. To that effect, I never implied that you "slept with all the bands you've worked with."
I mention "fashion designer" because there are plenty of little wannabes who run around, cutting up band shirts and using a bedazzler gun, hoping that the band members will be impressed, and who have no other "talent" in designing clothes other than cutting up band shirts.
You can't tell me THOSE girls are "fashion designers," especially if they don't know the difference between a sewing machine and a serger.
No, THEY are groupies -- and that's FINE -- but I don't have respect for them because they TRY TOO HARD, and they LIE about it.
[One, in particular, that I have the displeasure of knowing of is conversationally maladroit, and her "friends" only like her because she buys them their drugs, as she comes from money. She has no other skills -- or job, for that matter -- and is catty and bitchy to those who dare question her "talent." She also has a reputation for giving it up rather quickly...I mean, what else is going to keep the guys there? Her looks? NOT. Her brains? NEXT. Her effervescent, charming personality? YEAH RIGHT. Her blazing, obvious talent? WHATEVER.]
THAT is who I was referring to.
I am SURE, just as I am sure that the sun will rise in the east, that YOU are leaps and bounds above that.
For the record, I think your stance is admirable. It shows you have respect for yourself. That's VERY respectable.
