I agree totally the substitution patterns and the playing time for the total roster can really sway a game and the outcome. Some coaches see the tourneys as a way to work out bugs in the system and other coaches see the tourney as a way to reward the bottom of the bench and give the practice players minutes to keep them working hard the rest of the way. So just the coaches outlook and goals alone can really change the final results.

My son plays for a weak class I team and the coach decided to take extra players and concede being even remotely competitive for the goal of bring some new bodies and giving away minutes. Not the best plan in my eyes but once again that lead to losses that I hope do not bring a weaker team even lower as the real season restarts.
