OR hasn't had a lot of success in the tournament lately. The coach not only has to have confidence in his players he needs to instill that confidence in them as players. That means they shouldn't be looking over their shoulder about getting the hook after 1 mistake. I don't see it at OR. When you go into the tournament undefeated I don't think you should let a team with 6 losses dictate how the game is played. You need to play with a confident edge, not afraid to lose. Pembroke was the more confident team in that game. The more confident(cocky) coach brought his team to victory in that game. It's not about feeling good winning a bunch of games in the regular season, it's getting your kids to understand the effort and devotion it takes to win in the tournament. The OR coach's son is now gone, he needs to trust the abilities of his players and give up some of the control, loosen up. Change the style, let the kids play. You have good players coming back. If he's not willing to do that he should give it up.
