I wanted to jump into the discussion about the coverage of N.H high school basketball. I'm very happy to hear the word is spreading on our site and we're continuing to grow both in visitors to the site and the amount of content we're adding on a daily basis.
To address some of the comments of our coverage at Nhsportspage.com and the coverage in general;
We are able to track ANY stat for basketball, rebounds, assists, steals, name it we can offer it. The fact is, and it was mentioned in the post, most teams don't even track those statistics. So what we offer is membership to the Players lounge where we'll engage the coaching staff/managers and try to have it reported for that player/member. It is more practical to chase down those specific prgrams that to chase down 90 high schools but we do have the capability to provide those stats.
I have personally been in contact with over 50 coaches and I have written a letter to every Athletic Director in the state whose schools I have not personally been in touch with. As we continue to grow, and we are rapidly, word of mouth will spread and with it, more information will come to us. Right now I'd say we have box score information on 33% of the games being played and I think that is a good start ( new site and hey, its early January).
www.NHsportspage is in the process of starting a partnership with BST basketball ( headed by Brett Sellingham and Will Flowers) to cover their all new H.S summer league games with full box scores and statistics, to be played in Manchester this summer. So the coverage will be year round and we hope to cover Boys baseball and girls softball in the spring. If you see our mens league pages you will see we track top ten league scoring leaders in every league. We can do that for H.S but without 100% of the information, it is not fair to the kids to list top ten scorers without every player eligible to make that list. So we offer Team Off. and Def. leaders.. a good team stat which is important.
We also have the capabilty to have streaming video of game action on the site and its offered to our players lounge members.
Another comment I read ( I believe Mike M.) was that there is no place to find past champions. Great point, I agree, and it will be on our site within the next week, for all four classes.
I'd also love to report 1,000 scorers and have an active 1,000 club where you will see current AND former players.
We also will debut a 'Thurday's thoughts' column this week, a general re-cap on all four classes and what we have seen so far.
So to summarize, NHsportspage.com is offering about 15% of the information we are capable of and 15% of what we will be covering. We want to be the location for any fan of basketball in N.H and this site will be around for decades to come. This is only the beginning. Right now we are talking to different companies about advertising on the site and we hope to hear from businesses as we grow.
Thanks for letting me respond and for visiting the site.
