You can find general opening instructions at http://www.zone6400.com/manual/6400manual.html
The hard drive is located at the front of the computer and these instructions are within this website at

Here is a answer from the past on how to remove a hard drive. Read the recommendations by Jeff.

It is some years since I last opened the front but at that time I used a 4 or 5 inch long 1/16 inch thick blade to open the front panel. It took some effort. You say that you are going to discard the 6400 (may it rest in peace) and thus I assume that you want to destroy the hard drive. I have a vague memory that hard drives can have a portion of the memory set aside depending upon how it is setup and that erasing the drive will not erase the set aside portion. Another memory from the distant past says that one has to take a hammer to a hard drive (the actual disk) to ensure that it cannot be read.
Personally when I destroy a credit card I cut it up into little pieces and discard them half in one weeks garbage and half some weeks later..
I can't paste a photo of a hard drive but it is about 6x4x1 inches. Try searching online for a Macintosh hard drive image.
I hope that this helps.
