So, I've just got to ask. Why are *you* the one that's moving out?

The advice that the other have given you is solid. But I just want to make the blunt point that "taking care of yourself" and "making decisions that are good for you" includes those with financial implications. You haven't been married long enough to owe her much of anything, and you don't have any kids.

I know when my ex was deciding to end things (without telling me why) her expectation was that she would get half of everything I made for the rest of my life. She claimed that "informed friends" had told her that was how the courts would make it. That was my first big turning point in things because...well...I knew she was full of garbage.

Make sure you consult your own, personal attorney. Not one that the two of you share and that she has selected. No matter what you think, an attorney is always (always!) primarily serving one person or party. Have someone review the dissolution papers separately for you.

And don't worry about hurting her feelings. She's obviously not worrying about yours as she goes about building a separate life that doesn't involve you. Which don't kid yourself, probably means she either already has, or is currently looking, for a girlfriend. Trust me.
