Hi Nick,

I am 32, and like you, I have found a soul mate (and husband for the last six years), and three days ago he told me that he is gay. I am completely devistated, and know the absolute pain you're experiencing. Somtimes it's so overwhelming I feel like I'm going to die. The last three days have been the worst of my life. I am trying to focus on survival for now. One way that has helped is to focus on the moment and not letting my thinking jump ahead to what might have been, what might happen, etc. I keep breathing deeply and remiding myself that I only have to handle what is really happening right now. I don't have to think about the children we will never have had or dealing with him having a boyfriend. I just have to focus on this very moment - writing you this email, trying to find a therapist, lining up support for myself. That's all I can think of for now. I hope you find some peace. I hope I find some, too.
