I was in the relationship with my X for over 35 years and we married young. I had zero idea of what I was doing or what was missing. When I began to notice other men responded differently to me I blamed myself...

You don't have to muster courage to do anything immediately, but you might want to make some definite changes in your relationship that tend to allow you every convenience to make the changed you'd choose at your own pace.

Sometimes I think that these men don't have any idea of the harm that they have created and just telling them is not even enough to begin to get it in to their noggins.

That is not the point, and it took me some time to come to understand this as well, its not about trying to get him to change or to understand... now the adjenda is YOURS.

If you can get into some therapy that person would likely help you to be able to define what is important to you.

I was post therapy many years ago by the time I figured all this out... It's been a process and I can look at it two ways... that it took me SO long to figure it out... or that I finally did figure it out and isn't that good.

I'm choosing the second way...

We live in an imperfect world and in it we can find our way to moments of intense enjoyment , understanding, acceptance and pride of choice...

You've already begun...
