Lewis, I'm so sorry that you seem to believe there is nothing exciting about the balance of your life. I realize that I was 20 years your junior when my husband told me he was gay. Nevertheless, we didn't separate until I was nearly 50. I have come to know countless str8 spouses, men in this case, who are decidedly over 50. I can tell you that once they've moved through (not "over it", not "moved on") the experience, they found that there are some pretty terrific over-50 str8 women who are more than happy and willing to help them discover what was actually missing all those years.

The one thing your lesbyterian wife no longer has is YOU.
Her loss, no matter how she paints it.
