This place is such a lifeline for me. I treasure the things that are shared here so much because like NO place else, we members of this "exclusive club" (????) are able to understand one another. I so wish we could call one another and meet for breakfast or lunch or dinner.
I have to chime in with this note.....feeling sad because there is love here, but it can NEVER be what it should be. I, too, KNOW what I should do in my mind, and can NOT seem to make it happen. We've talked about it MANY times and I believe we both know deep down that the "caged birds need to be set free", to borrow the thoughts of someone on this forum. But I can't seem to get past the thought(due to my lack of confidence)that I will somehow end up worse off if I end this. It never seems right that I have lived this way for so long(decades) in this dark closet that I didn't understand until recent times, but I would likely be seen as the villain if I initiate the separation. It seems so wrong that I would have to wear the hat called "Villain" if I initiate what is actually RIGHT, and the most LOVING thing to do.
